Hello, hi English speakers. I'm now a cyber security expert. Officially I passed an exam

and now I can say I am one. Last time I was asked to hold a talk about social engineering

and I would like to hold it in German just for you. The slides should be in English and

hopefully readable and I hope you get it all. Okay, and I need to be fast because I only

have got five minutes and a live demo and 15 slides. So, I am not sure why this is here.

This is philosophy. There are two ideas of why people do anything for somebody else.

One is everything is self-interested. Everything I do for anybody else is also of self-interest.

It is because it furthers my own career if I do nice things to other people. And the

other thing is all the other way around that I am just produced the way that I will help

other people because that is what people do. And I am happy to do that and if somebody

asks me to do that, I will do that more eagerly. And if I see that it actually helps and I

see there is a need and see how people feel, then I will help other people. Both are actually

true if you think about them for a long time. So, what they have in common is that we support

other people. Hacking is learning about a system just to the extent of spotting the

shortcuts and all abbreviations within and then use them to be more effective than the

people who spend their time inside the system. This is the kind of hacking that is not writing

code but the kind of hacking where you get to your goal and well, easier, faster and

without the hassle of queuing up or buying tickets or anything. The motivation of people

is that people want to help fellow human beings. However you look at it, they want to do that

even more so when they are being asked to do it and even more so if they understand

the feelings and the needs of others. So, people that is not so very much known. People

have operation modes. Even the smartest and most alert people are not smart and alert

all of the time and all people make mistakes. And people make even more mistakes when they

have recently eaten and tried to be active. If they haven't gotten good night's sleep

or if they haven't slept enough. If they are under the influence of some substances.

If they worry about money, that is a really bad thing and so all the poor people in the

world are distracted to a great extent. If they grieve, if they have other strong feelings,

if they are distracted by emotional pressure and I just realized I haven't switched to

German as I promised to do. So, who hasn't understood me so far? Do I have to say it

in German again? All good, right? Okay. Or if you are distracted by noise, by fast

movements, sudden movements, alarm, signals, etc. Also people not only have a operating

system in the frame but also times. Because people are smart and they are as smart and

willing as they are during the day. But not at night, not in the evening. And there is

a day of variation. But I don't know myself that well, that's why I left that out.

So, back to the point. People want to help other people, are smart and are willing.

But depending on the internal and external conditions, they are not always. So, you plan.

You try to be as tough as possible, but also to be very convincing, both in the way you

speak and the way you act. And you try to use these moments when people are not quite

together and not quite as strong. And if necessary, you use any situations from outside

to help you because you distract people so that they decide faster and don't think
